THERE ARE TWO COMING!

TWO WHAT? You say.

TWO NEW BOOKS! And I am so excited. It’s been a long wait but the contracts have finally worked their way around. So, releasing in 2023 will be the next in the Appalachian Life Novels:

This is Where It Ends – You’ll meet Minerva Jane Jenkins, a 94-year-old spitfire from Shoal Mountain, Kentucky. Minerva lost her husband, Stately Jenkins, forty years earlier leaving her alone and nearly blind to fend for herself on the mountain. As he lay dying, he asked Minerva, “Keep the secret. Promise me you’ll keep the secret.” And she begrudgingly did. Like any good mountain woman in the late 1800s, when you make a promise – it’s your word. The question for Minerva is, how long do you keep a secret? Even if it’s detrimental? Even if the person who asked you to keep it is dead.

You’ll love this sweet, gutsy old woman but more so, you’ll admire her integrity. This is Where It Ends releases in June of 2023.

Meet Me Where I Am, Lord – 90 Days to Know Him Better – As an acquisitions editor, I attended conferences for three years asking for someone to write a devotional that wasn’t fluffy, didn’t try to cram God into a hobby, and wasn’t shallow. I wanted to dig deeper. It didn’t have to be waist deep, just ankle deep. I wanted something that would give me a little history, a new perspective, and something to chew on after I finished it. As I talked to a publisher about this and just how frustrated I was that no one seemed to want a contract. If I could get a good one, like I wanted, it would come with a contract. Nothin’. I heard crickets chirping in the background. UNTIL, the publisher said, “Why don’t you write it?” I suppose I looked somewhat dumbfounded, but after praying over that request, I took them up on the challenge. My prayer was simple, Lord, I’ll be the pen. Use this to Your glory. Almost a year later, the manuscript is finished. Meet Me Where I Am, Lord will release around Easter 2023. It goes just “under the surface” deeper, but it challenges you with a new perspective – something to think over.

I am blessed and excited to pieces to not only continue in fiction, a genre I love, but to be able to return to my roots of devotional writing. I would ask that you add these releases to your prayers – not on my behalf, but that God will use them to the fullest to bring glory to Himself.  Hey, I just wanna write and I want the glory to be His.

I’m looking forward to reading both books! If you need someone to help proofread, I’m happy to do it for a very reasonable fee. Also, I would be delighted to serve on your launch team!

I'm so excited about your next installment. I love the depth of the stories. I find that every devotion I purchase because someone recommends it, leaves me wanting. I want something deeper too. When I study the Word I want to hear God's voice. I think I'll be hearing Him when I read your devotional
